The guide at SouthEast fishing Finland is Ville Pääkkönen, a passionate angler for whom taking to the water is more of a lifestyle than a hobby. Ville enjoys sharing his expertise and makes fishing trips relaxed and educational, always with a twinkle in his eye.
Over 30 years of experience with various fish species and fishing techniques has created a solid foundation for professional guiding. He spends more than 500 hours in a boat annually, and the water calls to him whenever possible. Nowadays, Ville’s heart lies in exploring new waters and testing new fishing techniques, as there is always something new to learn and experience in fishing.
In addition to his fishing skills, Ville is also a professional in the kitchen. Having graduated as a chef in 2006, the guide believes in clean and high-quality ingredients. Self-grown, gathered, and caught ingredients are at the core of his culinary philosophy. And if the fish happen not to be biting, Ville certainly eats and cooks accordingly.
Alongside his guiding work, Ville works as a youth worker. He leads a fishing course as an elective subject for middle schoolers, as well as a fishing club for youth over 13, alongside other youth work.
Safety and professionalism are at the heart of every trip. Ville has completed a professional fishing guide qualification and holds a valid EA2 first aid certificate and a rental boat skipper’s license.
